Opening event

The Opening Event of ”VEC Sharing” project was held on 14 November, 2017, in the library of the Koprivnica Crafts School (Lead Partner) in the framework of INTERREG V-A Hungary-Croatia Co-operation Programme 2014-2020.

The project partners introduced themselves as: the Lead Partner of the project is Koprivnica Crafts School (Koprivnica ; HR); project partners are Kolping János Nagyváthy Grammar School, Secondary Technical School and Vocational School (Csurgó; HU), Kolping Catholic Secondary Technical School and Student Hostel of Nagybajom (Nagybajom; HU), Stjepana Sulimanca Secondary School (Pitomača; HR) and “PORA” Regional Development Agency of Koprivnica Križevci County (Koprivnica; HR). On behalf of the Joint Secretariat, Marian Zelei Programme Manager also welcomed the participants and wished successful project implementation to the partners.

The partners demonstrated the objectives of the project which are: to improve the role of educational institutions as intellectual centres for increasing the specific knowledge base in the region. In the short term it means implementing activities that improve students’ and teachers’ competencies in the occupations welder, cook, baker, confectioner and agriculture by providing joint exchanges between the border regions. The long term objective is to develop a firm partnership between Hungarian and Croatian partner schools for future cooperation on cross-border projects considering exchange of knowledge, exhibitions and competitions in the area of education.

After the opening ceremony, the participants could visit the exhibition of the local products produced by the students of the two participating Croatian schools, and also the tasting of the exhibited foods and drinks was possible.

 

 

Second partner meeting

In the framework of the VEC project, the 2nd Partner Meeting was held on 16 January 2018 in the morning at Kolping Catholic Vocational School in Nagybajom (5 Templom street, Nagybajom 7561 Hungary). 16 participants representing the 5 participating partner institutions were present at the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to review the ongoing and future activities and related tasks.

In a good atmosphere, during an active and effective meeting the participants discussed the current issues related to the following topics: project and financial management (with special regard to reporting tasks), project meetings, information and publicity, strategy for exchange programs, scheduling of exchanges, auxiliary activities (joint exhibition, common cooking, cookbook, sport events), labour market analysis, PCM training.

Participants agreed that the next project meeting will be in September 2018.

 

 

Workshop

In the framework of the VEC project, a teachers’ workshops were held on 16 January 2018 at the Kolping Catholic Vocational School in Nagybajom (7561 Nagybajom, Templom u. 5.). 14 participants representing the 4 schools involved in the project were present at the meeting. The purpose of the workshop was to reconcile the content of the exchanges and to create a common template for the exchange programmes.

Exchanges will be organised and implemented in the following topics: welders, confectioner, baker, cook, and agricultural mechanics.

The participants also agreed on the contents of the basic Croatian and Hungarian cultural and language course to be implemented in the framework of the project and managed to create a commonly accepted template for the exchange programmes, which will be filled in with content in the months before the exchange programmes start.

 

 

A Croatian – Hungarian sports day was organised in János Nagyváthy Secondary Technical School

A sports day was organised in Kolping János Nagyváthy Grammar School, Secondary Technical School and Vocational School of Csurgó on Tuesday, the 2nd of October, 2018, realised in the frame of a Croatian – Hungarian interregional project. The Headmaster of the school, Ms. Viola Varga Nagy greeted the guests as follows:
Our dear guests, dear students of Nagyváthy!
It is my great pleasure to greet everyone in Csurgó since we can organise a sports day in our school today owing to the Croatian-Hungarian interregional project. As you all know, the student exchange programmes, the purchase of equipments started last year were carried out as part of this project. Due to the student exchange programme, we could experience the vocational training, the local system of the school, friendships were formed and we got an insight into the life of students of a country which is situated close to Hungary, but it is another country, however. On this day, all the participants of the project are here present at the same time, thus I have the honour to greet them. The welders from Koprivnica, the agricultural mechanical engineering technicians from Pitomača, the bakers, cooks and confectioners from Nagybajom and the ‘szinonima’ team from Koprivnica are lined up in front of us and we are represented by the welders and agricultural mechanical engineering technicians from Csurgó. The competitions, friendly games of this morning take place between the vocational representation of two countries. We wish you a good competition and a pleasant way of passing the time!
The students were highly excited to wait for the start of the competitions; they could spend a pleasant, lovely day together. The results of the competitions:

A Croatian-Hungarian Cross-border Student Exchange Relationship

On the 18th of January, 2018 the student exchange closing conference was organised in Kolping János Nagyváthy Grammar School, Secondary Technical School and Vocational School in Csurgó, Hungary, realised in the frame of the project of the „Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 HUHR/1601/4.1 2/0030 IBI- VEC Sharing”.

The project included four schools as project partners – the Secondary Technical School of Koprivnica as Lead Beneficiary in two occupations (welder, cook), the Secondary Technical School Stjepana Sulimanca of Pitomača (agriculture), Kolping János Nagyváthy Grammar School, Secondary Technical School and Vocational School of Csurgó (welder, agricultural mechanical engineering technician) and Kolping Catholic Secondary Technical School and Student Hostel from Nagybajom (baker, confectioner). As a result of this joint activity, 10-10 students in each occupation could spend together two weeks in each institute, thus, they could get to know the vocational training of the neighbouring country and its culture through the free-time activities and factory visits. Based on the project, a joint sport event and a gastronomy day were also realised and each school carried out a significant purchase of equipment as well.

At the large-scale closing ceremony, both the Croatian and the Hungarian representatives of the participating schools and the Croatian-Hungarian guests were present. The Mayor of Csurgó, Mr. János Füstös was delighted to see the successful realization of the project and asked the partners to continue the co-operation in the future as well. In the speech of Ms. Viola Varga Nagy, Headmaster of the school from Csurgó, it has been said in what respect the students and the practice teachers enriched themselves with practical experiences as the students experienced mainly the Hungarian large-scale farming and the maintenance of large agricultural machines while in Croatia they gained experience regarding the small-scale, subsistence farming. In addition, in Croatian schools they also teach the whole scale of plant cultivation, thus the whole process of camomile cultivation and the harvesting, drying and packing as well.

Mr. Ratimir Ljubič, the Prefect of Kapronca-Kőrös county congratulated all the participants on the successful realization of the project and asked to collect additional useful thoughts for a new project. In the celebration, Mr. Zlatko Martič, the Headmaster of the Secondary Technical School of Koprivnica and Mr. Peter Laki-Lukács, the Headmaster of Kolping Catholic Secondary Technical School from Nagybajom appreciated the cooperation as well. Then, Mr. Josip Ivos, Headmaster of Secondary Technical School of Pitomača emphasized that from all the other cooperations so far, this current cooperation contributed the most since friendships were formed and they could be witnesses of real professionalism. After the summary of Ms. Melita Birčič, Director, Regional Development Agency of Koprivnica Križevci County, Ms. Marian Zelei Programme Manager, HUHR Joint Secretariat appreciated the participants’ efforts and encouraged the partners to continue the project.

Among the speeches, the teacher of the school of Csurgó (Mr. Ádám Vogel) and the students (Barnabás Siketer and Adrián Novák) entertained the public with their musical performances and the student, Miss Kíra Kalinics recited a poem in Croatian language as well. At the end of the ceremony, the memorable moments of the one and a half years’ project were shown, the project cake was eaten up and the guests could take a view of the students’ creations in a reception.
